At a General Assembly in November, International Coordinator Vivi Hunnicke Nielsen, DCA – Danish Center for Food and Agriculture, was elected new vice president for the 17 European knowledge institutions in Animal Task Force (ATF), an organization that also includes members from various agricultural sectors.

ATF is a European ”Public-Private Partnership” (PPP) representing scientists, farmers and the agricultural industry and aims at encouraging a sustainable and competitive livestock sector in Europe through knowledge exchange and innovation. The organization was established in 2011 and the new vice president has been a member since 2012.

As an organization ATF focuses on the entire production chain and creates the sufficient room for a dialogue between politicians, scientists, industry and society as a whole. In addition, the organization provides knowledge and expertise to the agricultural industry, politicians as well as EU institutions.

ATF aims at promoting livestock production interests in various EU initiatives and thus prepares input for EU research programmes and initiatives such as H2020, EIP-AGRI, FACCE-JPI and SCAR. Further, ATF contributes to knowledge exchange within the livestock sector by means of seminars and workshops, e.g. in relation to the annual EAAP conference.

Vivi Hunnicke Nielsen has been elected for a 2-year period.
