Farm animal scientist from the Department of Animal Science appointed member of the board of the Fur Tax Foundation

As of November 2016 senior scientist Steen Henrik Møller from the Department of Animal Science at Aarhus University has been appointed member of the board of the Fur Tax Foundation.

Upon recommendation from the Danish Council for Independent Research the Danish minister of Environment and Food, Esben Lunde Larsen, has appointed senior scientist Steen Henrik Møller, Department of Animal Science member of the board of the Fur Tax Foundation as per November 1, 2016 for a period of four years.

Originally Steen took a MSc in agricultural science and later a PhD and has since 1985 worked as a scientist. Today Steen is employed as a senior scientist at the Department of Animal Science, Section for Epidemiology and Management, and has for a number of years been engaged in research in the health, welfare and production of mink – including the development of concepts and tools for welfare assessment.


About the Fur Tax Foundation

The Fur Tax Foundation is managed by the Danish Fur Breeders’ Association and the aim is to strengthen the potentialities and competitiveness of the fur industry through disease control, research and development as well as product development. The funds of the Fur Tax Foundation originate from the production tax claimed when selling pelts from mink, polecat, fox and finn racoon partly produced in Denmark, as well as from subsidies from the pro mille tax funds from the Pro Mille Tax Foundation.
